WRITER | DIRECTOR | PERFORMER

Hi! My name is Lydia and I’m a writer and director for film and theater born and raised in New York City. I recently graduated with an honors degree in Modern Culture and Media from Brown University, where I collaborated with my peers on a wide array of creative projects. Prior to Brown, I spent a semester at the National Theater Institute.

I use my observations of the people around me to create work that highlights specific aspects of the human experience, exploring the complexities and contradictions present in all of us. Thus, I hope to foster confrontation with the self and empathy for others. Ultimately, I’m passionate about work that awakens, uplifts, and catalyzes audience members.

Although writing and directing are my primary focus, all of my work is informed by my background in performance. I’m a founding member of Kitchen Sink Theater Company at Brown and wrote, directed, acted, and designed with the group. I was also a writer and performer for Brown’s premier sketch comedy group. Finally, I often edit my own film projects, and have been a producer for a variety of student work. In all of these roles, I find joy in collaborating with others at each stage of the creative process.
