A short film that follows an American nuclear family and uncovers the darkness hiding beneath their joyous facade, begging the question is the “American Dream” truly something to strive for or merely a front of happiness and familial success?

As the final project for the course, On Both Sides of the Lens: Latin American Women Filmmakers, we were tasked with utilizing techniques we had studied in Latin American feminist films in an original short. “La Cienaga” directed by Lucrecia Martel (2001) was particularly inspiring in the creation of this piece.
